HUTTO TAKES PROACTIVE STEPS IN KEEPING CITY CLEAN WITH ADOPT-A-SPOT PROGRAM
Hutto, TX, March 16, 2018– Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation received a Mayoral Proclamation at the March 15th Hutto City Council meeting proclaiming March 2018 as “Adopt-A-Spot Month”. This proclamation marks the official relaunch of the Hutto Adopt-A-Spot Program.

Through a partnership between Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation and the City of Hutto, the program provides organizations and citizens with a means to help keep the Hutto Community a clean and beautiful place to live, work, and play. Hutto Adopt-A-Spot encourages citizen participation in beautification projects and litter clean-ups of designated public areas at regular intervals.

“A clean community has a positive effect on safety, quality of life, economic development, and a more sustained environment. Hutto is currently a clean city and we want to keep it that way. Programs such as Hutto Adopt-A-Spot encourage cleaner communities and take a proactive approach to litter prevention.” – Jessica Romigh, Chair of Keep Hutto Beautiful Board of Directors

Groups such as businesses, churches, scout troops, athletics, school groups, and civic organizations are encouraged to adopt a spot in Hutto. The Hutto Rotary Club and the Nueva Vida Hutto Church have already committed to caring for areas, making them the first groups to sign up for the program. Information about adopting a spot can be found at www.keephuttobeautiful.org/adoptaspot.

To assist with the relaunch, Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation received a $1,000 Green Bag Grant for education and marketing from Keep Texas Beautiful and HEB/Central Market in the fall of 2017.

Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation’s mission is to inspire the community to be environmentally engaged by providing education, resources, green initiatives and beautification opportunities. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is one of over 400 Keep Texas Beautiful affiliates in the State.
