Keep Hutto Beautiful Honored as Non-Profit of the Year
at Hutto Area Chamber Gala
Hutto, TX, February 25, 2019– Keep Hutto Beautiful (KHB) was honored as non-profit of the year at the 2019 Hutto Area Chamber Annual Gala held on February 23rd at The Golf Club at Star Ranch Event Center.
Non-Profit of the Year is awarded to a Hutto non-profit for outstanding leadership in the non-profit sector, extraordinary acts of charity, and making a difference in the community. Keep Hutto Beautiful was nominated for this honor alongside three notable Hutto non-profits: Hutto Resource Center, The Sandbox at Madeline’s Place, and Hutto Rotary Club. Present at the Gala representing KHB were two members of the Board of Directors, Jessica Romigh (Chair) and Peter Gordon.
Keep Hutto Beautiful is dedicated to the beautification and sustainability of the Hutto Community. Our mission is to inspire the community to be environmentally engaged by providing education, resources, green initiatives and beautification opportunities. Our devotion to providing volunteer opportunities within Hutto allows for collaboration opportunities with local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and nonprofits. A clean community equals a safer community that encourages quality of life and economic development.
KHB is responsible for programs such as the Great Hutto Cleanup, Hutto’s America Recycles Day Event, Fall Garden Fest, Hutto Adopt-A-Spot, and the Peterson Community Garden. In 2018, 600 volunteers worked 3,132.25 hours to support the Keep Hutto Beautiful mission, a 76.53% increase from 2017 and a value of $77,335.25 according to the national volunteer value standard determined by Independent Sector.
